My Journey Back to Faith with Landings
I was in a season of transition, having recently graduated from university and started my first full-time job. Though I found joy in my daily life, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. I struggled to remain consistent in my faith — prayer felt distant, Sunday Mass became optional, and I often found excuses to put off the Sacrament of Reconciliation, telling myself I was too tired or had other commitments.
Over time, my family noticed the change in my faith life. Their reminders, which I initially dismissed as nagging, eventually turned into a painful realisation: I was drifting away from something that once anchored me. What began as an annoyance turned into despair at the thought of losing my connection with God.
In my heart, I felt a quiet stirring fueled by feelings of emptiness and hopelessness, a call to return. I started searching for ways to rekindle my faith, and that was when I came across Landings Singapore on the myCatholicSG webpage. At first, inertia held me back, but after experiencing a low point in my career where I was emotionally and mentally exhausted, I knew I had to take that step. With a leap of faith, I reached out to the team at Landings and signed up for their upcoming run.
The 10-week programme became a turning point in my journey. Through the sharing of faith stories — both my own and those of others — I saw how God had been at work in my life all along. The programme reminded me of His divine providence, echoing His promise in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

One word that deeply resonated with me during the programme was “sacrifice.” A speaker shared about the Mass, and I was reminded that love itself is a sacrifice. To love God is to make sacrifices of time, energy, and commitment. Inspired by that, I made the decision to return to Sunday Mass as an intentional act of devotion and a step toward reconciling with Him. In doing so, I found myself rediscovering the comfort, peace, and sense of belonging I had once known.
Beyond personal renewal, Landings also emphasised the importance of community. Since completing the programme, I have joined the Landings Singapore community, where I continue to grow in faith alongside like-minded individuals. Through our fellowship, we encourage one another, hold each other accountable, and strive to serve others as we journey together.
If you are reading this and feel a similar stirring in your heart, I encourage you to listen. The desires that God plants within us do not fade until we respond. I leave you with a line from one of my favourite worship songs, “Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury:
“Oh, it chases me down, fights ‘til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine.”
This song reminds me of the relentless love of God — the same love I have experienced through my journey back to faith with Landings. If you feel lost, know that He is already searching for you, waiting to welcome you home.
Shared with love by Landings Singapore.
